How a social intranet can be used to drive employee engagement and usage of IBM Connections!

Mears Group today employs over 20,000 people in every region of the UK. A long standing Notes Domino, Quickr and Sametime user, in 2015 Mears embarked on a journey to roll out IBM Connections cloud to all its employees in order to facilitate a new way to engage with its employee base. The biggest challenge we faced was how to engage 16,000 employees who previously had no access to any systems. Their interaction with the new environment had to be intuitive (from their first via a mobile device) and provide them with relevant information that ensured they use the system on a consistent basis. Within the first week of launch of a new Social Intranet that provided a single entry point to IBM Connections, they experienced 4 weeks an increase of over 1140% in usage of IBM Connections Cloud with over 900 People on-boarding in 1 day. The aim of this session is to explain the vision, the challenges and the current status of the implementation and provide a demo of the new environment.
